Learn how to protect your child from online dangers. Join us for a parent information meeting on one of the following dates: Wednesday 9/17 at William Byrd High School, Monday 10/6 at Hidden Valley High School, Monday 10/13 at Northside High School, Tuesday 11/18 at Cave Spring High School, or Monday 12/8 at Glenvar High School. The Roanoke County School Board has named Dr. Jamie Soltis as the next superintendent of Roanoke County Public Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Soltis will succeed Dr. Ken Nicely, who announced his retirement in September 2025 after a 35-year career in education and 33 total years with RCPS.

After eight years as superintendent of Roanoke County Public Schools (RCPS), Dr. Ken Nicely has announced he will retire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, culminating a 35-year career in education and 33 total years with RCPS.

Roanoke County Public Schools is encouraging parents to attend four important community meetings this fall concerning student safety and mental health issues.
